Bob Massie has the best performance ever by an Australian test bowler.
He had one of the most sensational debuts of any bowler in test history.
At Lords in 1972 he took 8/84 and 8/53 for Australia against England
where Bob's swing bowling proved to be the perfect foil to
Dennis Lillee's speed. Bob played six test matches whilst also
representing West Australia for many years.
Bob was the Assistant
Coach for Western Australia and has successfully coached a number
of first grade cricket clubs in Perth. He has recently
retired from his business life and is in great demand as a fast and
swing bowling coach. Bob will be part of the full time coaching team
for this 10 week programme.
ACB radio makes full use of Bob's knowledge
by using him as an expert summariser for live test match cricket
broadcasting in Australia. He has now become the ‘voice of cricket’ in Western Australia.
