A.C.E. Cricket Coaching Pty Ltd is a husband and wife partnership.
Ian and Joy Thacker both enjoyed careers in the corporate world before moving on to form their own respective businesses. They attribute their success to three areas.

Their joint skills and experiences are an invaluable component. Ian has a strong business background from establishing his own business to working within corporate organisations. Cricket has always been a large part of Ian's life whether playing the game, organising cricketing events or cricket coaching. Joy has developed and delivered a range of training programmes to a wide range of audiences; she was responsible for the marketing activity for a large financial organisation for many years.

- Overseas Cricket Development Programmes
ACE has been successful, for many years, in bringing those cricketers to Perth who not only want to play cricket in Australia, but also want to develop their cricketing skills and nowse.
ACE have pulled together a world class team of coaches who work one on one with each individual on structured development programmes to ensure they make the very most of their cricketing potential. Batsman and bowler Ian Blackwell from Somerset and the England One Day squad spent time at the Academy during the English winter to focus in on various aspects of his own game plan.
With cricketers arriving from the UK, Sth Africa, India and Pakistan
New Zealand, Thailand, America and the eastern states of Australia
this really is a unique, cosmopolitan cricket adventure. With strong links in the UK and other cricketing nations it was always the intention of A.C.E to develop the Australian Cricket Experience. Ian and Joy are delighted with the world class coaching team who are all committed to this program.
- University Study and Cricket
The University of Western Australia attract students to Perth from all over the world to combine study with cricket. Working together ACE Cricket Coaching and UWA can offer the opportunity for overseas students to work towards their academic goals whilst utilising their free time to develop their game and play local cricket.
- Structured Junior Coaching Programs
One on one coaching for the senior/junior cricketer is available throughout the season. The ACE ethos of quality and professionalism can be experienced by the individual cricketer looking to improve his game. Cricket Coaching, Fitness Development and Mental Skills training is available from the team of world class coaches.
Junior Holiday Coaching Programmes are offered for the serious young cricketer for both pre and mid season training. Run in association with three club sides these workshops are structured to provide the highest level of coaching and utilising the skills and expertise of only the very best coaches. Numbers are kept low to ensure maximum benefit to the young cricketer.
IAN THACKER
Born to a sporting family, Ian was playing cricket almost as soon as he was walking! He can never remember a time when cricket was not a big part of family life.
Although renowned locally for his cricket ability Ian never made it into a 'county' side. Fitness training to improve his game has long been an obsession and perhaps it was this interest that led him into a part time career as a cricket coach. The excitement and love he has for the game can be witnessed during a coaching session. A lifetime's cricket knowledge, hour upon hour of skill development, the ability to motivate and a big heart for the game is all shared in just one short session. Some have been known to say 'if you split this guy in half you would find the words "cricket''.
Ian has enjoyed a successful business career. From establishing his own company, to the role of Managing Director in one of the UK's leading suppliers of occupational health products, Ian has a gained wealth of business experience and expertise.
A lifelong dream has been to open a private cricket academy. Ian now feels his commercial successes, together with his experiences on the cricket field, give him the skills necessary to realise this dream. He believes that if he had applied the disciplines, which succeeded him in business to his game of cricket, his performance would have been greatly improved. Cricketers today need to take this combined approach.
Ian has realised his ambition and made available to all world class cricket development programmes.
Family life and his Christian faith are the most important things in his life. Ian is married with two young sons.
JOY THACKER
Joy has enormous energy levels and strives to make the most out of every opportunity each new day brings.
Pre family, Joy enjoyed a successful career with one of the UK's top building societies. The skills she learnt during this 20-year period together with her teaching qualification have provided the knowledge and expertise to run her own training and marketing consultancy. She has a wealth of experience at writing and delivering training workshops and materials over a wide range of management development topics.
Whilst teaching aerobics and keep fit for many years she now prefers to be spending her leisure time out doors and enjoys walking, cycling and gardening.
Joy firmly believes the greatest job she will ever have the privilege of doing is raising their two sons. This is no task but a sheer joy. Outside of this she enjoys committing time to voluntary charity work.
